13th St. NAC Cat Rescue is a small but determined group of volunteers, lead by Joanne, serving the Northside area of San Jose since 2005 (officially). We are dedicated to improving the lives of feral and social cats and in controlling the population by the use of TNR. Trap-Neuter-Return is an effective, internationally recognized program by which cats are trapped, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and returned to their original location to be cared for. Kittens and cats that can be socialized are taken into foster care and are then put up for adoption. We are not based at a shelter or in one location on 13th Street. All of our animals are housed in foster homes. You can find us at different petfairs during the month or at various neighborhood functions. See Adoption Fairs/Events page. You can help our organization and the neighborhood by volunteering to trap cats and transporting them to the vet for vaccinations and neutering, fundraising, fostering cats temporarily in your home or even just donating to the cause. Under the 13th Street NAC (Northside Action Committee), 13th Street Cats is a 501c(3) nonprofit so your donations are tax deductible

Rescue

Ace Kitty Rescue Force

At Ace Kitty Rescue Force, we participate in Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) and pull as many cats or kittens as we can with a good demeanor to rehome. We reach out to members of the community in need of help with stray and/or feral cat overpopulation due to abandonment and neglect.

Captivating Cats Animal Rescue

1343 Palm Street

(408) 726-3914

I first began rescuing and decided on my rescue name in 2008. I worked at the city shelter and saw a great need to help kitties start a new safe life. I love every single one of them and they all have a story to tell.

One Planet Rescue

Formed in 2017, One Planet Rescue may be a new rescue organization, but founder Farah Ravon, is far from new to the rescue community. Farah’s extensive experience volunteering for local rescue organizations, as well as her latest work as the U.S. Representative, and Foreign Adoption Coordinator for Vafa Animal Shelter the last 6+ years, provided experience with rescuing animals from around the world. Here at One Planet Rescue, our work is focused on injured and special needs dogs and cats who require immediate care. Because many of these dogs and cats do come from abroad, we are diligent about fully vaccinating, and spay/neuter prior to our rescue transport. (Sole exceptions would be puppies or kittens). Although we would never turn down a local case, when rescuing abroad, we always open each case with the requirement of, foster to adopt. This protocol is set in place to confirm the rescue is the right fit for the family interested, and if they are not the right fit the rescue will be returned back to a One Planet Rescue foster. One Planet Rescue does not have a local facility, rather individual sponsorships makes it possible for us to rescue dogs and cats from all over the world. We also work solely with foster families, this frees up donation funds to go directly to the many costs pertaining to the pets welfare. Domestic transportation, vet bills, foster care, are just some of these examples.

Rescue

Rescue a Kitty

I have been doing cat rescue for 20 years and have worked with different rescue groups but have decided to branch out on my own. I have had a passion for saving animals since I was 12 years old and always will.

Rescue

Silicon Valley Pet Project

Silicon Valley Pet Project (SVPP) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to saving local at-risk shelter pets through rescue, community involvement, and education.

Rescue

The Dancing Cat

We are a rescue organization focused on connecting homeless cats to their forever home. We rescue cats from the local shelter and community. For thos cats that require medical attention or socialization we have foster homes where we place the cats until they are healthy or socialized to the point where they can be adopted. We also take healthy cats directly to our cat lounge where they are available for adoption. We do this because we do not want to see any cat linger in the shelter or on the streets when we can help them find a loving home.
