  Greets visitors, provides information about SFAR, and conducts tours.

• Cat Habitat AttendantWith the cats

  Maintains clean litterboxes and rooms to provide a healthy home for cats.

• Cat Comfort MakerWith the cats

  Creates cat-approved bedding and curtains with simple sewing or crocheting skills.

• Cat Coin Bank Team Member

  Locates area businesses for coin bank placement and manages pickup and delivery.

• Cat Correspondent

  Writes creative letters from resident cats to donors who have sponsored in-house adoptions.

• Cat Enrichment SpecialistWith the cats

  Socializes shy cats, monitors behavior, and provides activities for engagement and exercise.

• Cat Food Specialist

  Organizes, inventories, and maintains food supply for SFAR cats and programs.

• Cat Handyperson

  Assists with light repairs, painting, and carpentry for the rescue and thrift store.

• Cat HorticulturistWith the cats

  Plants and maintains window boxes and containers to provide visual engagement for cats.

• Cat Laundry Attendant

  Washes, dries, folds, and organizes cat bedding and towels.

• Cat Transporter

  Transports cats to veterinary appointments, adoption events, and foster placements.

• Feral Food/Food Bank ProgramWith the cats

  Distributes cat food to needy cat families and feral communities, monitors feral colonies.

• Event Volunteer

  Assists with fundraising and awareness events, coordinates paperwork and cat transportation.

• Fundraising Volunteer

  Uses fundraising talents to acquire monetary support for SFAR.

• Office Receptionist

  Answers phones, takes messages, and provides accurate information and referrals.

• Social Media Assistants

  Writes cat profiles and gathers information for posting on SFAR website and social media.

• Thrift Store Merchandise Receiver

  Greets donors, accepts donations, and performs light cleaning and sorting.

• Thrift Store Merchandise Cleaner

  Cleans merchandise received at the thrift store with light cleaning and sorting.

As a free roaming, no-kill cat rescue,we have many opportunities for compassionate cat lovers who would like to volunteer their time and talent to the shelter and thrift store. We will provide on the job training for all positions.
