Alley Cats and Angels
Apex, NC
Alley Cats and Angels is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3), foster home-based cat rescue organization located in the Triangle, NC area. Alley Cats and Angels takes a multi-faceted approach to cat rescue and welfare. It starts with our feral cat education, assistance, and TNR program, where we assist with the TNR of feral cats and take in kittens and friendly cats from feral colonies. After socializing and vetting them, they are put up for adoption through our adoption program. There is also the barn/garden cat program that relocates high-risk feral cats to safe barns for a second chance at life. And finally our Alter an Alley Cat spay/neuter assistance program provides low-cost spay/neuter for pet cats, stray cats, and feral cats whose owners/caregivers cannot afford the cost of spay/neuter. Alley Cats and Angels: Rescues stray and abandoned cats and kittens, and young kittens from feral colonies; socializes the cats in a foster home environment, fully vets the cats; and then finds loving, permanent, and safe homes for the cats Brings attention to the plight of feral cats and helps alleviate the problem of overpopulation in our area by sponsoring spay/neuter surgeries for cats from low-income/hardship families facilitate zero growth in street/feral colonies by sponsoring spay/neuter surgeries for feral cats Relocates at-risk feral cats into safe barn/garden homes so they are no longer in danger and have a second chance at life Educates the public about pet overpopulation and promotes spay/neuter Is an Advocate for Forgotten Felines

Best Friend Pet Adoption
Cary, NC
Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA) is a no-kill animal rescue organization based in central North Carolina. BFPA has no building, office, or shelter. We are an all-foster network committed to helping dogs and cats in need of homes. Individual donations are our most important source of income as we receive no public funding. Our purpose is to provide medical assistance, foster homes, and adoption services to previously lost, abandoned, abused, or neglected animals in Wake County, NC and the surrounding counties. Our mission is to educate this disposable society in which we live that every life should be valued and cherished and is directly linked to human responsibility and commitment. Almost all the animals we rescue require immediate medical attention. BFPA never turns away or euthanizes an animal because of the expense involved in returning them to good health. All our rescued animals are evaluated for temperament, examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, microchipped (if possible) and sterilized, if age appropriate. Cats and dogs receive monthly flea/tick preventative and dogs also receive monthly heartworm preventative. The most important ingredients we provide to these animals are loving care and a safe haven -- something most of them have never experienced. These cats and dogs live in volunteer foster homes until we find them a loving permanent home, however long it takes. We match these precious beings to a single, couple or family who understand cats and dogs should be full participating members of the family. Our hope is that these animals never have to experience being unloved again. Since our beginning, BFPA has rescued and placed over 2,500 cats and dogs into their forever homes. BFPA was created in 1998 by two Raleigh-area women who had volunteered with other established rescues in the Triangle. Their dedication to help homeless dogs and cats has led to an organization that has grown to over 225 volunteers strong. BFPA received 501(c)(3) status in 1999.

Feline Rescue in the Ferry
Sneads Ferry, NC
I formed the rescue because of the overwhelming need in our area. We are the largest growing town in NC. We used to be a quaint little fishing town with a military base at our back door. We have been discovered as a beautiful beach community which has brought people here, especially with the pandemic. They realized they could work from home, so why not make home the beach? Unfortunately, because we have such a transient population, cats are adopted/purchased and then left behind when the owners decide to move on. It happens so frequently that all the rescues in the area stay packed. I provide a safe environment, food and
Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab
Hampstead, NC
"F.U.R.R. has rescued & helped hundreds of cats that were in dire need and had no humans to turn to. These include injured cats, sick cats, feral cats, cats whose owners had died without making arrangements for their pets, abandoned cats that were left when their owners moved, homeless mom cats with kittens, homeless kittens whose mom cat had died…the list goes on and on. Basically they are mostly homeless and unwanted cats that would have been euthanized in a shelter, died on the streets from an illness or accident, or continued to reproduce and add to the cat overpopulation problem. "Not only has F.U.R.R. helped the cats, but we've also helped many people in our community, people who have feral or stray cat overpopulation problems and can’t afford to spay or neuter, or get medical help for injured or sick cats they’ve found. "Equally important is many, many F.U.R.R. rescued kitties have been adopted and are now safe and loved!
